About The Position

A postdoctoral position is open in the Lab of Dr. Yingzi Xiong at the Lions Vision Research and Rehabilitation Center, Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore Maryland, USA. The position is available immediately. The selected candidate will participate in research developing multisensory naturalistic scene analysis models for assessing real-world functioning in individuals with vision and/or hearing loss. The Lions Vision Research and Rehabilitation Center encompasses both clinical and research branches that collaborate to advance patient care and drive innovation. This position offers a unique opportunity for researchers interested in translational vision science to work alongside clinicians and patients, bridging the gap between scientific discovery and real-world impact for those living with vision impairment. The position is renewed annually for up to four years with the possibility to extend.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. degree in a field relevant to vision and/or hearing sciences.
  • Strong background in computer vision and/or computer acoustics, machine learning, and statistics.
  • Demonstrated publication/presentation record.

Nice To Haves

  • Research experience involving human behavior data collection is desirable.
