Linux Systems Engineer
About The Position
MANTECH seeks an experienced, customer-oriented Systems Engineer to join its team in the Fort Meade, Maryland area. The role supports government intelligence agencies and involves designing, implementing, and managing enterprise virtualized environments and infrastructure. The engineer provides full-lifecycle systems administration across development, test, and production environments; deploys and maintains IT automation within secure, isolated network architectures; engineers scalable storage and complex file system configurations; and prepares and presents technical program documentation and briefings for senior management and stakeholders. The position requires a current, active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 14 or more years of relevant Systems Engineering experience, or an associate degree and 19 or more years of experience.
- Experience with Linux administration and engineering.
- Three years of active, hands-on experience with at least one of: Kubernetes/Rancher; Ansible, including Ansible Automation Platform (AAP); or AWS virtual environment provisioning, management, or orchestration.
- Proficiency in Bash scripting and infrastructure automation.
- Experience orchestrating enterprise virtualization using VMware vSphere or Nutanix Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI).
- Current, active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
Nice To Haves
- Advanced scripting in Python or Perl.
- Proficiency in PKI certificate management and hardware security modules.
- Experience implementing automated security hardening (STIGs/CIS).
- AWS Virtual Environment Provisioning, Management, Orchestration Certification.
