Our work depends on TS/SCI level cleared Linux Systems Engineer joining our team to support our Intelligence customer in Springfield, VA or St. Louis, MO (with preference in Springfield, VA). This position supports the Geospatial Services & Solutions business area to provide high-quality, cost-effective solutions to the customer. As part of the GSS Team the linux systems engineer expertise is needed to support a sophisticated enterprise environment. The Linux Systems Engineer is an active participant in SAFe and Scrum development teams and meetings. The systems engineer will be responsible for supporting the customer’s enterprise environment. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Design, implement, and maintain enterprise Linux-based infrastructure in both on-prem and virtualized environments Develop and maintain automation solutions using Ansible and scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) Standardize system configuration, patching, and deployment processes through infrastructure-as-code practices Administer and support Red Hat ecosystem tools, including Satellite and Capsule Integrate and manage authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g., OAuth, SSO, identity providers) Support and optimize virtualized environments, including platforms such as Nutanix Support the development of dashboards using observability solutions using tools such as Grafana and Zabbix Troubleshoot complex system, performance, and integration issues across distributed environments Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency Document system architecture, processes, and automation workflows Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including automation maturity and operational best practices EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience. QUALIFICATIONS: 5+ years of experience administering and engineering Linux systems in enterprise environments

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience administering and engineering Linux systems in enterprise environments
  • Solid understanding of system administration fundamentals (networking, storage, security, OS internals)
  • Strong expertise in configuration management and automation using Ansible
  • Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python, or similar) for automation and tooling
  • Experience managing Red Hat-based environments (RHEL, Satellite, Capsule or similar tools)
  • Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure and performance issues
  • Familiarity with authentication and authorization concepts (e.g., OAuth, LDAP, SSO)
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required and eligibility to obtain a CI poly
  • US Citizenship Required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with virtualization platforms such as Nutanix
  • Experience with observability and dashboarding tools such as Grafana and Zabbix
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integration with infrastructure automation
  • Experience implementing security best practices in Linux environments
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
