About The Position

ASRC Federal Technology Solutions LLC is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator with an active or interim Top Secret clearance to support DEVCOM-CBC and the Transformation Decision Analysis Center (TDAC). The role serves as a technical subject matter expert responsible for engineering, deploying, configuring, securing, and maintaining enterprise Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7, 8, and 9) infrastructure supporting U.S. Army operations. The administrator manages automation, identity services, storage, application-hosting integration, and vulnerability remediation in accordance with DoW and DISA standards. The position is primarily based in a professional office environment at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, working within or alongside the DEVCOM-CBC TDAC organization. It involves extended computer use and may require moving between buildings to support users and coordinate with government staff. Some work may involve classified facilities and systems. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, plus at least 7 years of relevant work experience; alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in a listed or related field or 4 additional years of experience, as stated under education requirements.
At least 3 years of Red Hat experience.
Active or interim DoW Top Secret clearance.
DoDI 8140.03 qualification for DCWF Work Role 451 Systems Administrator - Intermediate. Accepted foundational qualifications include certifications mapped to the role in the current DoD 8140 Qualification Matrix, such as Cloud+, Security+, and SSCP.

Responsibilities

Architect, deploy, configure, maintain, and decommission enterprise RHEL 7, 8, and 9 servers.
Manage kernel updates, system upgrades, and package lifecycles using yum/dnf repositories integrated with Red Hat Satellite and centralized automation pipelines.
Develop, test, and execute Ansible playbooks to automate administrative tasks, configuration-drift management, and routine maintenance; write and maintain Bash scripts.
Manage systemd service orchestration, enforce SELinux policies in enforcing mode, and manage Docker container runtime environments.
Configure and administer local block storage using Logical Volume Manager (LVM); deploy, secure, and maintain Samba and NFS network-share services.
Provide infrastructure hosting support, system tuning, and OS prerequisites for middleware and database tiers, including Oracle Database, Oracle WebLogic, Apache HTTP Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
Apply and validate DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) across Linux nodes and remediate vulnerabilities based on ACAS/Nessus scan results to maintain IAMV and STIG compliance.
Integrate RHEL systems with LDAP and Active Directory identity providers and enforce CAC/PKI-based multifactor authentication.
Issue, deploy, and maintain DoD PKI SSL/TLS certificates for server identification, secure communications, and client authentication.
Monitor system health, performance metrics, and logs using enterprise monitoring tools; conduct root cause analysis of degradation or outages and implement optimizations and corrective actions.
