About The Position

ASRC Federal Technology Solutions LLC is looking for a Linux System Administrator with a minimum of an active Secret clearance to support their work with DEVCOM-CBC and the Transformation Decision Analysis Center (TDAC) organization. The Senior Linux Systems Administrator serves as a technical subject matter expert responsible for the engineering, deployment, configuration, security compliance, and lifecycle maintenance of enterprise Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7, 8, and 9) infrastructure supporting U.S. Army operations. The candidate will manage system automation, identity management, storage configuration, application hosting integration, and vulnerability remediation in accordance with DoD and DISA standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an active Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field and 5 additional years of experience
  • 3 years of RedHat experience
  • DoDI 8140.03 qualification for DCWF Work Role 451 Systems Administrator - Intermediate. Accepted foundational qualifications include certifications mapped to Work Role 451 Systems Administrator - Intermediate (or Advanced) in the current DoD 8140 Qualification Matrix, such as Cloud+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+, or SSCP.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, deploy, configure, maintain, and decommission enterprise RHEL 7, 8, and 9 servers.
  • Manage kernel updates, system upgrades, and package lifecycles via yum/dnf repositories integrated with Red Hat Satellite and centralized automation pipelines
  • Develop, test and execute Ansible playbooks to automate day-to-day administrative tasks, configuration drifts, and routine maintenance.
  • Write and maintain Bash scripts for system automation
  • Manage systemd service orchestration, enforce strict SELinux policies in enforcing mode, and manage container runtime environments using Docker
  • Configure and administer local block storage utilizing Logical Volume Manager (LVM).
  • Deploy, secure, and maintain enterprise network share services including Samba and NFS
  • Provide infrastructure level hosting support, system tuning, and OS prerequisites for enterprise middleware and database tiers, including Oracle Database, Oracle WebLogic, Apache HTTP Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB instances
  • Apply and validate DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) across all Linux nodes.
  • Perform vulnerability remediation using automated and manual methods based on ACAS/Nessus scan results to maintain continuous IAMV and STIG compliance
  • Integrate RHEL systems with enterprise identity providers (LDAP / Active Directory) enforcing CAC/PKI-based multi-factor authentication.
  • Issue, deploy, and maintain DoD PKI SSL/TLS certificates for server identification, secure communications, and client authentication
  • Monitor system health, performance metrics, and logs using enterprise monitoring tools.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on system degradation or outages, implementing performance optimizations and corrective actions
