About The Position

North Point Technology is looking to hire a Linux Systems Engineer to support a mission-critical enterprise identity and access management environment. This role requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with the willingness and ability to obtain a CI Polygraph within the customer's timeline. The ideal candidate will combine strong Linux systems expertise with cloud and networking knowledge to sustain and improve a complex, multi-environment operational platform serving external organizations.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with the willingness and ability to obtain a CI Polygraph within the customer's timeline.
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) including S3, EC2, and Reserved Instances
  • Troubleshooting network-related issues at OSI model layers 4–7
  • Systems engineering documentation including network diagrams and data flow diagrams
  • Agile team collaboration tools including Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket
  • Linux system administration and infrastructure management best practices
  • CompTIA Security+ (current, required before start)
  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
  • U.S. citizenship required

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier II support in resolving customer-facing issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis and mitigation for operational problems.
  • Communicate findings to development teams to establish effective feedback loops.
  • Act as a subject matter expert reviewing user metrics, system health, and overall performance, implementing proactive measures to ensure operational availability.
  • Develop scripts to automate operational tasks.
  • Leverage playbook-based automation.
  • Manage both COTS and GOTS software products across multiple environments.
  • Coordinate with Enterprise Services teams to maintain compliance with security requirements.
  • Interface with customers and external technical teams to diagnose and resolve access issues.
