Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We are seeking a skilled and motivated Red Hat System Administrator to join our team. Position Summary: HII Mission Technologies has an immediate opportunity available for a Linux System Administrator/DevOps Engineer (Infrastructure Operations) located in Warren, MI. The ideal candidate will have experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems in a DoD RMF environment. The System Admin will build, operate, and automate Linux-based infrastructure that supports software development, build, and testing environments and maintain system integration lab infrastructure while automating repetitive operational work. This role requires on-site work in Warren, MI and cannot be performed remotely. Come support our work with Ground Vehicle Systems Center and join a high-performing team of engineers!
Requirements
- 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.
- Practical experience with Docker or OCI container ecosystems
- Experience administering Linux systems in production or engineering environments
- Strong experience with Linux system administration from the command line
- Strong hands-on experience administering enterprise Linux distributions (e.g., Ubuntu, RHEL, Rocky, Debian)
- Hands-on experience with Ansible automation
- Experience writing automation scripts in Bash and/or Python
- Familiarity with Git-based workflows for infrastructure code
- Experience troubleshooting system, networking, and service-level issue
- Expereince managing systems via CLI without reliance on GUI tools
- Expereinmce with: systemd, netwokring configuration, storage and file systems, package management, SHH and secure remote administrators
- Needs to be able to be certified as an admin for Linux based on DoD requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance with the US DoD (must be a US citizen in order to obtain a clearance with the US Gov)
