About The Position

The Linux Engineer delivers and supports IT services for the Maritz businesses and provides a range of solutions that are easy to consume, appropriately priced and of business value. This role maintains the enterprise network to support web hosting environments with respect to system integration, access, performance and security. Troubleshoots complex network, hardware, and software related issues. Interacts with management and team members to provide excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in RedHat Linux
  • 2+ years experience in cloud-based Linux deployment, preferably AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Working knowledge of technologies such as Terraform, Apache HTTPD, Tomcat, OpenSSL, AWS, and GCP
  • Ability to interpret and apply security requirements to infrastructure and platform solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to automation, operational efficiency, and reduction of technical debt
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently
  • Participation in After-Hours On-Call rotation for systems support

Responsibilities

  • Support Linux server strategy, deployment, and optimization.
  • Participate in infrastructure and business-driven technology project development and execution.
  • Develop and support operational best practices as they pertain to Linux environments
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve operation system, software and cloud issues as they pertain to Linux environments.
  • Support security audits and remediation efforts and maintain encryption standards, certificate lifecycles, and security controls.
  • Support patching and config management through Terraform, Ansible, or other related automation tools.
  • Respond to service interruptions and participate in root cause analysis activities.
  • Support problem management and reliability by identifying trends, recurring issues, and developing solutions.
  • Focus on technical automation to improve efficiency and reliability of Linux environments.
