About The Position

TEKsystems is seeking a Linux Developer / Automation Engineer for a hybrid role in Charlotte, NC. This is a 36-month contract position. The role involves working with Linux systems, Ansible, Python, Bash, and CI/CD pipelines to automate OS patching, software upgrades, and application deployments in large-scale environments. The ideal candidate will have strong scripting skills and experience in automation and deployment engineering.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Linux system administration (RHEL preferred)
• 3+ years of experience in automation and deployment engineering in large-scale environments
• Strong hands-on experience with Ansible (playbooks, roles, automation design)
• Proficiency in scripting/programming languages such as Python and Bash
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar)
• Strong understanding of Linux package management (RPM, YUM/DNF, APT)
• Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS)

Nice To Haves

• Experience with container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Ansible Tower/AWX)
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Splunk, Prometheus, ELK)
• Experience working in regulated enterprise environments (financial services preferred)
