About The Position

WorkForce Software, an ADP company, is hiring a Linux Administrator. This role involves implementing and maintaining the platform that powers WorkForce’s Software (WFS) suite of products. The individual will be passionate about improving the customer experience and enjoy working cross-functionally to proactively solve problems. This is a wide and varied role that crosses all elements of production hosting including OS, database, and security. It will enable you to work alongside the Support and Infrastructure teams to ensure that we are able to meet the demand and requirements of our clients across the world. Good communication, planning, problem solving, and teamwork are essential in this role. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with Linux system administration.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in supporting a production environment.
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation to support 24x7 operations.
  • Experience with Apache/Nginx administration.
  • Highly proficient in using and configuring SQL databases (MSSQL/Oracle).
  • Experience in a ticket-driven support environment.
  • Military experience with skills including teamwork, adaptability, organization, and follow-through is also acceptable.

Nice To Haves

  • Skills with one or more scripting/programming languages (bash, php, perl, etc.).
  • General Windows server administration.
  • Knowledge of Agile or working with Agile teams.
  • Working knowledge of Caching technologies (Redis, Memcache).
  • Experience with Message Queues (rabbitMQ, ActiveMQ).
  • Working knowledge of microservices architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and communicate with engineering and support teams to resolve incidents and proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Monitor online services, applications, and performance, taking necessary action to ensure SLAs are met or exceeded.
  • Perform Linux maintenance for global environments.
  • Administer NGINX, including parameter tuning, virtual host configuration, and key/certificate management.
  • Automate manual tasks and processes.
  • Adapt to a variety of work as there is no typical day, requiring nimbleness, adaptability, and flexibility.
