About The Position

Peraton is looking for an experienced Linux Administrator to provide operational support for the FDA enterprise environment consisting of approximately 3,500 physical and virtual servers. This role is part of the Linux team and involves providing operational support to customers in both on-premise and cloud-based (AWS and Azure) datacenters. Key responsibilities include image creation, server provisioning, patching, reporting, and creating/maintaining documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The administrator will work directly with customers to integrate applications, perform scripting and automation of tasks, and engage in high-level problem-solving. The position requires troubleshooting a wide variety of issues within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs). The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, outgoing, accountable, and an energetic team member. The position is scheduled from 8 AM to 5 PM ET and requires participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • 5 years with BS/BA or 9 years with a HS Diploma
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Linux Administrator.
  • Experience with Linux operation systems, Red Hat Satellite/Capsule/ OEL, Foreman, Pacemaker, Cisco hardware builds and provisioning with Kickstart.
  • Experience with Red Hat Linux, Ubuntu, Veritas SF/Infoscale vcs/vxvm/vxfs, Linux build automation/recovery, OpenShift, OCFS2, Ansible Tower, Scaler.
  • Strong understanding of server backup, experience with vulnerability scanning and threat mitigation technologies, Server hardening, OSCAP.
  • Understanding of common security products (Splunk, Lumension/Ivanti, etc.)
  • Familiar with Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy Management, VMWare VSphere (e.g., ESXi, vCenter) administration and support, Linux Systems Administration, Storage
  • Experience with Net App, Cloud computing instance and service provisioning (e.g., Amazon Web Service, Azure, etc.)
  • Infrastructure as Code experience (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, etc.)
  • Automation skills via scripting (e.g., ksh, bash, yams, Oracle Linux patching automation skills and PowerShell).
  • SolarWinds monitoring experience
  • ServiceNow or other ticketing systems experience
  • Ability to concurrently manage multiple tasks
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required agency clearance
