About The Position

Welocalize is seeking a Linguistic QA Tester/Proofreader in Hebrew. This role involves using devices to test a wide range of internally and externally facing applications and tools. The ideal candidate will have a background in Marketing, Journalism, Copy Editing, Writing, and/or Localization. The tester will conduct test cases, identify localization bugs, report them via an internal bug tracking system, and verify fixes once implemented. The primary focus is proofreading and editing content localized to the candidate's native language, ensuring accuracy in grammar, typos, syntax, punctuation, capitalization, political correctness, inconsistencies, and spacing. Occasional translation from English to the native language and checking UIs for functional issues will also be required.

Requirements

Native-level fluency in Hebrew (grammar, vocabulary, composition, punctuation).
Fluency in English (written and spoken).
Experience working in translation.
Tech savvy, with experience testing web-based systems and applications on Mac OS X and iOS.
Ability to prioritize linguistic issues and distinguish between a true must-fix and a nice-to-have.
Experience working with test cases and test scripts.
Experience with bug tracking systems.
Ability to clearly articulate reproduction steps for a given issue and communicate critical information.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work with very diverse teams.
Valid visa to work in the USA.

Responsibilities

Proofreading and editing content already localized to your native language.
Catching errors in content such as grammar, typos, syntax, punctuation, capitalization, political incorrectness, inconsistencies, and extra spaces.
Translating content from English to your native language.
Checking UIs for functional issues.
Conducting test cases.
Identifying localization bugs.
Reporting bugs via an internal bug tracking system.
Verifying fixes once implemented.
