About The Position

Welocalize is seeking a Linguistic QA Tester/Proofreader in Hebrew. This role involves proofreading and editing content localized to your native language, ensuring accuracy in grammar, typos, syntax, punctuation, capitalization, political correctness, inconsistencies, and spacing. You will also be responsible for translating content from English to your native language and checking user interfaces (UIs) for functional issues. The tester will conduct test cases, identify localization bugs, report them via an internal bug tracking system, and verify fixes. This is a 100% onsite position in Austin, TX, with set Monday-Friday hours.

Requirements

Native-level fluency in Hebrew (grammar, vocabulary, composition, punctuation).
Fluency in English (written and spoken).
Experience working in translation.
Tech savvy, with experience testing web-based systems and applications on Mac OS X and iOS.
Ability to prioritize linguistic issues and distinguish between a true must-fix and a nice-to-have.
Experience working with test cases and test scripts.
Experience with bug tracking systems.
Ability to clearly articulate reproduction steps for a given issue and communicate critical information.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work with very diverse teams.
Must have a valid visa to work in the USA.

Background in Marketing, Journalism, Copy Editing, Writing and/or Localization.

Responsibilities

Proofreading and editing content localized to your native language.
Catching errors in content such as grammar, typos, syntax, punctuation, capitalization, political incorrectness, inconsistencies, and extra spaces.
Translating content from English to your native language.
