About The Position

Arrow Security & Training LLC (AST) is seeking CAT III Chinese Mandarin linguist/translator candidates for foreign-language support in military interrogations, intelligence collection, and other operational missions. The role provides transcription, translation, and interpretation, including idiomatic translations of non-technical material between English and the supported language using correct syntax and expression.

The linguist provides cultural and ethnic context for translations, interpretations, and transcriptions, and offers expert opinions on the likely meaning or intent of terms, phrases, or statements with multiple valid interpretations. The role also involves document exploitation: scanning, researching, and analyzing foreign-language documents and intercepted data for key information. Linguists supplement interpretations and translations with relevant information from professional fields such as medicine, science, engineering, and law, identify information that meets military information requirement list criteria, and contribute input to reports. Native proficiency is preferred but not required.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• At least two years of interpretation/translation experience.
• Interagency Language Round Table (ILR) level 3 in both the target language and English.
• Document exploitation skills.
• In-depth geopolitical knowledge.
