About The Position

Plan, lay out, install, test, and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, motors, equipment, and control systems in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. The role installs, maintains, tests, and repairs electrical distribution and transmission systems and related equipment, and may require a high school diploma or equivalent with prior experience in the field or a related area.

• Strong working knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management and supervision.
• Proficiency in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand, power, layout, and measurement tools.
• Able to meet all physical requirements.
• Must have all required tools.
• Able to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces, which may exceed 200 feet.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, test, and repair electrical distribution and transmission systems, including conduits, cables, wires, transformers, circuit breakers, and switches.
• String wire conductors and cables between poles, towers, trenches, pylons, and buildings; set lines in place and use winches to adjust tension.
• Open switches or attach grounding devices to remove electrical hazards from disturbed or fallen lines or facilitate repairs.
• Climb poles or use truck-mounted buckets to access equipment.
• Place insulating or fireproofing materials over conductors and joints.
• Identify defective sectionalizing devices, circuit breakers, fuses, voltage regulators, transformers, switches, relays, or wiring using wiring diagrams and electrical-testing instruments.
• Excavate and drill holes to erect and maintain structures.
• Observe and comply with safety and project rules; perform other duties as required.
