This position is responsible for performing duties required in the operation, maintenance, construction and repair of transmission and distribution systems. The Lineworker Apprentice 3 demonstrates mastery and continues duties of Apprentice 1 and Apprentice 2, constructs and maintains overhead and underground electric lines and equipment, and works lines and equipment energized with higher voltage after successful completion of Apprentice 2, hot line training, and supervisor/manager approval. The role involves inspecting existing primary and secondary power lines and substation equipment, correcting and reporting problems, maintaining and operating vehicles and equipment, investigating trouble on lines, and maintaining and servicing tools and equipment. The position also includes performing rubber glove work on energized lines from an aerial device, working on de-energized or grounded lines, performing complex duties of a Lineman under general supervision, and participating in scheduled training. Additionally, the role requires diligence in learning and adhering to safety regulations, collecting delinquent accounts, being available for call-out duty, maintaining the security of confidential information, staying abreast of technological advances, and demonstrating regular and prompt attendance. Supervisory responsibilities may include directing work in emergency situations and facilitating meetings.
