About The Position

Utz Quality Foods is recruiting a Lineperson to join its manufacturing team at the High Street facility in Hanover, Pennsylvania. The Lineperson moves finished product from the packing area to the warehouse and helps prepare production lines at the start of the day and when the packaged product changes. The role requires accurate inventory scanning, coordination with packers and material handlers, attention to records and scanning errors, and safe handling and movement of materials. The position also involves working proactively with a cross-functional team and performing other duties assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

• Basic math and reading skills.
• Ability to read and understand English communications.
• Knowledge of packing preparation procedures and product storage locations, acquired through one month of on-the-job training.
• Ability to safely maneuver 60-pound skids.
• Ability to lift moderately, up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to pull or pump jacks carrying up to 250 pounds.
• Ability to reach constantly and stack items above head.

Responsibilities

• Move product from the packing area to the warehouse by pulling jacks filled with product.
• Scan finished product accurately into inventory using scanning equipment.
• Order cartons and liners for packers from the material handler.
• Set up mats and cartons for packers before production begins each day.
• Prepare the packing area when packaging different products.
• Help relieve coworkers for breaks and lunches.
• Help clean the floor and equipment in the packing room weekly.
• Pay attention to maintain accurate records of items moved and check the computer for scanning errors.
• Work proactively as part of a cross-functional team with diverse groups of people.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
