About The Position

You are an experienced Aerial Lineperson with telecommunications expertise, responsible for the daily planning and execution of aerial construction activities. Working from personnel lifts and bucket trucks, you ensure that fiber optic cable is installed and secured in accordance with engineering specifications and industry standards. Your ability to guide and support team members contributes to the successful achievement of construction goals while maintaining strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of directly related experience as an Aerial Lineperson
  • Combination of relevant work experience and/or technical training in a related trade certification or education program
  • Ability to climb utility poles using climbing spurs and experience operating aerial platforms
  • Proficient in aerial construction, including new builds, pole transfers, strand installation, and cable lashing
  • Solid understanding of current construction practices and ability to interpret construction documents
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental practices, with the ability to promote safe work practices while maintaining quality, schedule, and budget requirements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, identify solutions, and contribute to a positive team environment
  • Ability to work independently and safely while adhering to company safety policies and PPE requirements
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract appropriate for the vehicle being operated, with willingness and ability to travel as required

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate bucket trucks and other types of personnel lifts
  • Install strand and associated hardware
  • Prepare spans for cable placement using cable rollers
  • Utilize standard telecommunications tools and equipment
  • Set up and operate single and double lashing tools
  • Set up and operate cable pulling equipment
  • Track and report daily production and material usage
  • Coordinate logistics and assign work to crew members
  • Train and mentor new team members on daily work practices and procedures
