Linen Tech - PT (6:30am-2:30pm) CMC
About The Position
Atlantic Health Chilton Medical Center is seeking a Part-Time Linen Tech (Environmental Services). The required hours are 6:30 AM - 2:30 PM, including every other weekend and holiday. The starting rate is $18.50/hr. The Environmental Service Department ensures the cleanest and safest health care environment for all team members, patients, and visitors. Environmental Services is responsible for the cleaning and disinfection of common areas, outpatient areas, procedural areas, and patient rooms, including bathrooms, furniture, carpet/hard surface floors, vents, electronics, and patient equipment. The team uses sanitizing processes of the highest quality required by multiple regulatory agencies. Often referred to as ‘the first line of defense against infection,’ the Environmental Service Department collaborates with the Atlantic Health System Infection Prevention and Quality Departments to ensure that there is consistent alignment at all sites.
Requirements
- HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
- Must be able to bend/push/pull/lift 50lbs.
Nice To Haves
- 1-3 years' experience as Linen Tech or relevant area preferred.
- Prior experience working in a Health Care Facility, Hospital System or relevant area preferred.
Responsibilities
- Washes, dries, irons, and folds linen and uniforms as required.
- Inspects and sorts linen as it is received from laundry and records and returns rejects to laundry.
- Removes clean linen from laundry carts and places in designated areas.
- Loads carts for delivery.
- Removes soiled linen from patient floors.
- Informs Environmental Services Supervisor on any damaged or missing linen from laundry.
- Delivers linens to all user locations.
- Sets up charts for housekeeping schedules, and carts daily as needed.
- Maintains log for linen closets, documenting unused linen and reporting any apparent discrepancy between established standards and actual usage.
- Maintains linen room in a clean and orderly condition.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
