About The Position
Wellstar is seeking a Linen Tech to join their team. This role is responsible for the daily delivery and pick-up of clean linen carts to various units within the facility, performing physical inventories, and maintaining the cleanliness of the clean linen storeroom. The Linen Tech will interact with customers to ensure timely and accurate linen delivery, manage inventory data using a hand-held device and the Control-Tex Inventory system, and coordinate with staff and drivers for cart staging. This position reports to the Environmental Services Director/Manager or Laundry Director/Manager.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
- Previous linen delivery experience
- Previous inventory experience
- Computer experience
- Control-Tex software experience
- Computer/data entry experience
- Ability to communicate with various members of the healthcare team
- Ability to use EXCEL, Word and have basic computer operational knowledge
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- Must understand verbal and written instructions
- Must be organized and attentive to detail
- Able to work quickly and efficiently
- Must be able to count and understand instructions given by supervisory staff

Responsibilities
- Perform daily delivery and pick-up of clean exchange and bulk linen carts to each unit requiring a cart in the facility.
- Perform physical inventory of Linen using a hand-held device.
- Neatly place clean linen back onto carts/shelves.
- Respond to units requesting additional linen when their supply has been depleted, assessing needs and providing only necessary quantities.
- Keep Spectralink (or other hospital provided phone/equipment) phone on and in operation.
- Ensure knowledge of all areas served.
- Interact with customers to ensure linen is delivered in an appropriate timeframe and quantity is accurate.
- Accurately count all remaining linen in exchange carts being returned to the clean Linen room.
- Record data (item counts) in a hand-held device for entry into the Control-Tex Inventory system.
- Coordinate with staff and drivers for the proper staging of carts being delivered.
- Ensure appropriate carts are returned to Laundry as well as delivered to the facility.
- Maintain cleanliness of the clean Linen Storeroom.
- Consolidate partially full carts and remove all empty carts, placing them in the hall.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
