Linen Tech - Troy
About The Position
This is an onsite, customer-facing position inside the hospital. Applicants must be able to reliably work the scheduled shift and meet the physical requirements of the position. The purpose of this role is to provide quality linen service to our customers in a timely, professional manner. Clean linen is an essential part of patient care. Our Linen Distribution Technicians help ensure hospital staff have the linen they need, where they need it, when they need it. The Linen Tech is responsible for filling, moving, and delivering linen carts to assigned areas throughout the hospital while providing friendly, professional service and meeting quality and safety standards.
Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 12 hours
- Ability to push/pull linen carts weighing up to 800 lbs. on wheels
- Sufficient manual dexterity to build and handle linen carts
- Ability to consistently bend, twist, push, and pull
- Ability to accurately perform simple mathematics
Responsibilities
- Report to work on time and maintain excellent attendance
- Meet established hospital and company standards
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Follow directions from team leads and supervisors
- Work professionally with a diverse workforce, hospital staff, and customers
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
- Be available to work past the scheduled shift when operational or transportation issues arise
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
- Cross-train in other positions based on facility needs.
