About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Laundry, the Linen Coordinator will oversee day to day operations for collection, storage, and distribution of linens between vendor (Handcraft) and AH. Linen coordinator is responsible for supervision and schedule of the AH linen attendant team, coordinating with end users on linen needs, managing data in Linen Helper, and ensuring all regulatory compliance. This position plays a critical role in supporting Augusta Health’s mission and advancing departmental goals through measurable performance indicators and service excellence. This position contributes to a collaborative, patient-centered environment and helps drive outcomes aligned with organizational priorities.

  • Eligibility to work in the United States and meet Virginia state employment requirements
  • Ability to understand linen collection, storage, and distribution procedures.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions completely and accurately
  • Must be competent on all equipment used in the Laundry/Linen department.

  • Prior experience in a hospital, healthcare system, or related service-oriented environment
  • Familiarity with Augusta Health’s systems, workflows, or organizational culture is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manages the development and training of staff in efficiently and safely collecting and distributing linens
  • Knowledge and understanding of vendor contract (Handcraft)
  • Knowledge of and adherence to HLAC, OSHA, and DNV regulations and requirements
  • Assists in production and communication of weekly reporting: includes but not limited to Daily/weekly operating report, keep performance indicators, payroll and human resource functions
  • Responsible for day-to-day operations
  • Scheduling of Team members
  • Communicating with the linen vendors
  • Serve as the AH primary resource for managing data in Linen Helper
  • Serve as the liaison between nursing management and other end users to address day to day linen needs
  • Oversee the Linen Attendants duties as outlined below:
  • Collect soiled linen from linen chutes and/or hampers and transport soiled linen to laundry in soiled linen carts.
  • Separate and weigh soiled linens.
  • Count linen and add linen to carts as required.
  • Load and transport linen carts to designated areas.
  • Cleans laundry area and equipment as needed
  • Puts linen orders together for off-site locations
  • Operates all equipment and machinery as required
