About The Position

As a Lineman, you will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical power systems and telecommunications lines. Your work will ensure that communities have reliable access to electricity and communication services, which are essential for daily life and economic activity. You will be responsible for working at heights, often in challenging weather conditions, to ensure that power lines are safe and operational. This position requires a strong commitment to safety protocols and teamwork, as you will often collaborate with other professionals in the field. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to the overall efficiency and reliability of the electrical grid and communication networks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent on-the-job training.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate heavy machinery.
• Technical proficiency in electrical systems.
• Ability to work safely at heights.
• Problem-solving skills to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions during outages.
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members and coordinating with other departments.

Nice To Haves

• Certification in First Aid and CPR.
• Experience with fiber optic installation and maintenance.
• Knowledge of local electrical codes and regulations.
• Knowledge of fiber optics.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground power lines and telecommunications systems.
• Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems to identify and address potential issues.
• Respond to emergency outages and perform troubleshooting to restore services promptly.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards while working at heights.
• Collaborate with team members and other departments to coordinate projects and ensure timely completion.
