About The Position

This position is responsible for verifying machine setup, reviewing the production schedule, and bringing full retort baskets into the Unloader for unloading. The Line Unloader will visually inspect finished product for quality, including image, odor, color, and consistency, and check for adherence to the can. They will pull sample products for the lab and supervisors, identify hold tags and change-overs, and monitor for product defects such as dents or leaks, removing defective items from the system. The role also involves identifying products with no or illegible codes, communicating with Retort Operators, Tray Packers, and supervisors, and ensuring baskets cycle to the loader. Additionally, the Line Unloader must verify the condition of suction cups and perform weekly sanitation. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements

  • Experienced within a manufacturing/process environment with knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Background in manufacturing.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies that the machine is setup properly.
  • Reviews production schedule.
  • Brings full retort basket into the Unloader for unloading.
  • View finished product, checking for image, odor, color, chunks. Checks to see if it looks good and if it is sticking to the can.
  • Pulls sample product for the lab and supervisors.
  • Identify any hold tags and any change-overs.
  • Watches for product defects such as dented or leaking product; pull defected product out of the system at the unloader.
  • Looks for product with no codes or illegible codes.
  • Communicates with the Retort Operator, Tray Packers and supervisors.
  • Ensures baskets cycle to the loader.
  • Verify that all suction cups are in good operating condition.
  • Perform weekly sanitation.
