Line Server - Garners Ferry
About The Position
Lizard's Thicket is hiring a Line Server / Short-Order Cook for its Garners Ferry location in Columbia, South Carolina. The role supports the kitchen team in preparing and serving food for customers. The position pays $11.75–$14.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience, and is available full-time or part-time, with AM or PM shifts. The Line Server carefully assembles plates according to order tickets, maintains consistent portions and presentation, and works efficiently to ensure food is ready on time. The role also includes proper food storage and handling and regular inspection of serving areas to support safe, sanitary food-handling practices. The work takes place in a fast-paced kitchen and requires attention to detail and a commitment to customer service. Eligible full-time employees may receive medical, dental, and vision insurance, a $15,000 life insurance policy after a 60–90 day period, and paid vacation/PTO. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work some holidays and all weekends.
- Preferred: experience as a line server or in a relevant role.
- Comfort working in a kitchen and cooking.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to memorize information, read and follow directions, and make sound judgment calls when appropriate.
- Flexibility, dependability, and ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain a professional, well-kept appearance.
