About The Position

The Line Quality Controller (LQC) is responsible for controlling product quality on the production line to meet customer specifications. This is achieved by monitoring control points of the product and logging relevant documentation. The LQC must also action non-conformances and out-of-specifications to ensure full quality control and product safety. This role is part of Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, a global leader in the ice cream industry, and contributes to the company's accelerated growth and transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Control product quality on the line to customer specification by monitoring control points and logging relevant documentation.
  • Action non-conformances and out-of-specifications to ensure full quality control and product safety.
  • Lead the team to achieve required product quality standards.
  • Complete paperwork legibly and accurately at required intervals.
  • Report all non-conformances to the line manager, QA, and shift manager, ensuring proper documentation is completed and signed.
  • Attend taste panels.
  • Work in an organized manner and keep workstations tidy and clean.
  • Ensure food safety is not compromised and operate good manufacturing standards (GMP), encouraging the team to do the same.
  • Stay aware of the production plan, including changes and product changeovers, and plan daily routines accordingly.
  • Play an integral part within the team to achieve targets for rework, downtime, and wastage.
  • Ensure working practices comply with company rules and procedures for safety.
  • Collect all required samples in line with the QC sampling plan.
  • Attend the weekly team brief.
  • Represent the Froneri way of working through operating model behaviors and core values.
  • Provide cover for absence of LQC with the aid of line management.
  • Accept line only when signed off by the line manager and the machine operator.
