About The Position

Triple Cities Metal Finishing is seeking a motivated Plating Line Operator for their 3rd shift. This role is crucial for maintaining quality, safety, and productivity through a hands-on approach, focusing on setting up, operating, and tending to plating tanks. Triple Cities Metal Finishing serves a wide variety of industries including aerospace, agricultural, automotive, computer, electronics, household, industrial, medical, military, construction, and office parts. They are ISO 9001:2015, AS9100D & NADCAP Certified and have been making innovative changes since 1945. They handle small pieces to large parts over 30 feet long and are a leading vendor for metal finishing in the Northeastern United States, offering electroplating, electroless plating, wet paint, and powder coating.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is preferred.
• Must be able to multitask while maintaining detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communicator.
• Ability to identify issues and recommend solutions.
• Basic math and computer skills, ability to use specialized testing tools and machinery.
• The ability to stand for extended periods of time is crucial.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• The role requires the ability to bend, stoop, push, pull and reach.
• Ensure all products and parts meet stringent quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Setup, operate, and/or tend plating tanks.
• Perform regular chemical additions to maintain optimal plating solution concentrations and ensure consistent quality of plated products.
• Immerse parts in plating tanks for specified times based on customer specifications.
• Adjust controls to regulate flow of current and voltage supplied to system in order to control plating process.
• Observe gauges to ensure that machines are operating properly; make adjustments or stop machines when problems occur.
• Rack and un-rack parts.
• Perform equipment maintenance including cleaning tanks and housekeeping.
• Inspect plated parts for defects, such as air bubbles, flaking, or uneven coverage.
• Verify that the product aligns with work instructions and customer requirements.
• Coordinate with other production team members to ensure smooth workflow during preceding and subsequent processes.
• Provide feedback to Supervisor on challenges or improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Wear appropriate PPE (gloves, safety glasses) to protect against chemicals and sharp edges.
• Maintain a safe work environment, especially when handling chemicals.
• Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
