Requirements

  • High school education or GED equivalent is required.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Recent manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Work is performed on the plant floor with frequent contact with others.
  • Requires a positive team-oriented attitude and communication skills.
  • Must also be able to multi-task, with little direction while maintaining a high attention to details.
  • Requires prolonged standing and walking, frequent bending, stooping and stretching, manual dexterity.
  • Required to occasionally ascend and descend up to three flights of stairs over extremely fast-moving machinery.
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Required to safely access fast moving machinery, which includes rolls with inward nip points.
  • Knowledge of and skills in the use of computer, copiers and business procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate identified or reported EHS issues to the EHS Supervisor and assist in resolution.
  • Champion employee empowerment to identify and address safety concerns, and generate new ideas related to safety and health.
  • Promote and participate in employee involvement programs such as project teams, committees, and internal training.
  • Actively participate in incident investigations and resulting recommendations for improvement.
  • Participate in plant and/or department level EHS audits, self-assessments and inspections.
  • Participate in plant incidents and plant non-conformance investigations and ensure closure of corrective actions.
  • Maintain ISO compliant safety and environmental compliance records.
  • Develop, create, and deliver safety training to employees as required.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness planning and response activities.
  • Participate in defining safety training requirements for employees.
  • Conduct safety training as needed.
  • Participate in internal and external inspections of the facility to assess and ensure compliance with federal, state, local, insurance and internal safety requirements.
  • Effectively interact with all internal functional job levels and with external agencies and resources to maximize the effectiveness of the safety improvement process.
  • Maintain and increase professional knowledge and expertise related to the fields of environmental protection, occupational health, and industrial safety through annual professional development.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
