Requirements

  • High School Education/GED required.
  • Advanced mechanical skills and ability to use precision measuring devices.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of manufacturing process, equipment, and quality specifications.
  • Demonstrated involvement in safety and knowledge of safety regulations.
  • Proven working experience in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting skills, and equipment re-build expertise.
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems, gauges, tools and equipment.
  • Effective and proven communication skills working in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • An Associate’s/technical degree is preferred or a related vocational/technical certification.
  • Working experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operation of equipment, including spray equipment, neckers, and flangers.
  • Identifying areas of spoilage and taking corrective action.
  • Developing standard operating procedures.
  • Providing training for equipment operation.
  • Reinforcing all safety procedures.
  • Setting up equipment to produce good quality cans of various heights and diameters.
  • Directing line operating personnel in the details of their duties.
  • Making machine repairs and overhauls.
  • Examining can bodies and cans for quality production.
  • Adjusting equipment to maintain good quality and efficient production.
  • Starting and stopping all equipment.
  • Removing jams in line and machines.
  • Grinding slitter cutters, sharpening punches and dies.
  • Ensuring proper lubrication of equipment.
  • Maintaining check lists and making out reports.
  • Concurrently maintaining and/or operating equipment.
  • Relieving operators as required.
  • Directing employees on assigned lines.
  • Diagnosing and remedying mechanical trouble, making repairs or complete overhauls on assigned equipment.
  • Keeping assigned area and equipment neat and orderly.
  • Performing other job-related duties as required or assigned.
