This position involves performing work related to the installation, rearrangement, maintenance, operation, removal, and inspection of electrical transmission and distribution facilities. It includes driving and operating line trucks and associated auxiliary equipment, applicable to both overhead and underground equipment and facilities. The role is part of a progression from Line Mechanic D up to Line Mechanic A. The selected candidate must reside within a 45-minute radius of the Wheeling Service Center (4201 Jacob Street, Wheeling, WV 26003). Applicants will be automatically invited to complete the HireVue Line Worker Virtual Job Tryout, an untimed online assessment, unless they are already in the Line progression. The job requires the ability and desire to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills for the key job (Line Mechanic A) in this family and to qualify through demonstration, examination, and/or performance appraisal. Employees must also acquire the qualifications for the next higher classification in the line of progression within a timeframe determined by the Company, or vacate the current job classification.
