About The Position

The Line Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, leading all safety efforts, and ensuring full compliance with government and company safety policies. This role involves defining and enforcing quantitative production indicators, overseeing quality parameters using statistics, and cooperating with other departments to ensure production continuity. The Line Manager drives continuous improvement by measuring and analyzing losses, implementing solutions, and monitoring their effectiveness. They manage the production line to achieve performance targets in safety, quality, and productivity at the lowest operating cost, producing periodic reports and analyses, and handling non-conforming products and customer complaints. Additionally, this role ensures accurate accounting of raw material movements in SAP, sustains WCM improvements, conducts shift meetings for effective communication, and plans and organizes the work of the subordinate team, including delegation and progress monitoring. The Line Manager also participates in recruitment, manages and mentors direct reports, conducts assessments, and coordinates with Human Resources on performance and disciplinary matters. They monitor team engagement and seek feedback to understand the impact of changes and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or significant experience in a related/similar field (prior Beverage Can/End Manufacturing experience preferred).
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work through complex problems in a high-volume manufacturing environment with tight tolerances.
  • Previous experience with ISO standards, HACCP and/or GMP principles.
  • Strong communication skills through all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to develop strong relationships with employees, peers and leaders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products to include Word, Excel, Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Beverage Can/End Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Previous SAP experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a safe and healthy work environment always striving for zero incidents by leading all safety efforts and full compliance to established government and company safety policies/mandates.
  • Define and enforce quantitative production indicators (performance, shortages).
  • Oversee quality parameters with the use of statistics.
  • Cooperate with other departments to ensure continuity of the production process.
  • Drive continuous improvement by measuring and analyzing losses, implement solutions and improvements; control the effectiveness of the solution and adjust when needed.
  • Manage the production line to realize performance in safety, quality and productivity at the lowest operating cost.
  • Produces periodic reports and analyses as needed and provides line performance updates.
  • Handle any nonconforming products and raw materials and prepare related root cause analysis raised by the QC department and/or customer complaints.
  • Ensure all raw material movements are accurately accounted for in SAP.
  • Ensure WCM improvements are continuously implemented/sustained for responsible line.
  • Ensure that shift meetings are conducted to ensure timely communication to team members regarding daily objectives, output requirements and EHS topics.
  • Plan and organize the work of the assigned subordinate team, ensuring division of tasks, delegating and monitoring of progress.
  • Actively participate in the recruitment and selection (in terms of determining skills and technical qualifications) of the subordinate team.
  • Manage, supervise and mentor assigned direct reports and conduct regular assessments and communicate timely feedback on progress and areas of improvement.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources to address any escalated performance or disciplinary related matters.
  • Monitors team engagement and seek feedback to understand the impact of changes and initiatives.
  • Performs other tasks reasonably commensurate with the role, as directed.
