About The Position

The Line Maintenance Worker performs routine and semi-skilled work in the maintenance, repair, and operation of the wastewater collection system. This position is responsible for assisting with the inspection, cleaning, repair, and replacement of sanitary sewer mains, service lines, manholes, and related collection system infrastructure. The employee operates hand tools, maintenance equipment, and vehicles while supporting the department’s efforts to prevent sewer overflows, maintain system reliability, and provide quality service to customers.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Valid Texas driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to obtain a Texas Commercial Driver License (CDL) within a specified period.
• Ability to obtain required Wastewater Collection or Wastewater “D” License.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in utility maintenance, construction, public works, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the inspection, cleaning, repair, and replacement of sanitary sewer mains, service lines, manholes, and related collection system infrastructure.
• Operating hand tools, maintenance equipment, and vehicles.
• Supporting the department’s efforts to prevent sewer overflows, maintain system reliability, and provide quality service to customers.
• Participating in on-call rotation after obtaining CDL.
