About The Position

This position works in cooperation with the production/shift supervisor to ensure the work team meets daily production schedules while maintaining a safe, and quality oriented work environment within the team. This position is responsible for assigning team members to various assignments within the area, maintaining any job rotation requirements, and conducting start of shift meetings with team members.

Requirements

Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills are desired.
Problem solving skills and the ability to motivate others to excel in a factory type teamwork environment is preferred.
A high school graduate with at least one-year of Acutex work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assures associate knowledge and compliance with all safety rules and procedures.
Assures associate knowledge and compliance with all quality procedures, logs, check-sheets and control charts.
Maintains communication with the department supervisor to assure they are informed of any unusual or significant events within their team. Interfaces as required with support personnel such as engineering and maintenance to assure pertinent information is exchanged.
Communicates with the work team to assure the team understands any production issues. Conducts necessary dialogue with the previous and following shift team leader to ensure consistent communication is maintained.
Mentors, trains, and coaches current and new associates to assure proper assimilation into the team.
As required assigns mentoring responsibilities to members to assure new associates understand their responsibilities as described in the various process control and work instruction documents to properly carry out their assignments. Evaluates associate proficiency and maintains verifies trainer/associate sign off are complete on work instructions for all associates working in the team.
Enters required data into various databases including productivity reports.
Operate, troubleshoot, and make adjustments to assembly equipment as the need arises.
Collects, reviews and delivers to the appropriate location daily production logs and other documentation as required.
Use precision gaging instruments and analyze product deviations as required. Perform necessary inspection using basic gaging equipment according to documented work instructions. Ensures data is entered correctly for all processes.
Enters required data OEE Production Tracker hourly and scrap data as required.
Ensures that all associate responsible preventive maintenance activities and checks are completed on time. Contacts maintenance for machine downtime issues and fills out any work orders as required.
Assures component identification and lot traceability requirements are maintained.
Communicates with material handlers and central stores any component requirements.
Ensures 5S standards are maintained.
Develops the team culture through leadership example.
Train new associates on environmental, health, and safety procedures.
Ensure compliance to safety rules and plant emergency procedures, including all ISO14001 environmental issues.
Other duties as assigned by the production supervisor.
