We are hiring for a FIRST SHIFT - Line Lead in our Processing Department Hours are: 5:30 am - 2:30 pm (with some mandatory OT)

Requirements

  • Must be consistent & reliable in attendance.
  • Ability to use basic math skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Understand all aspects of company recipes.
  • Must be capable of lifting 20 to 80 lbs. bags of recipe spices.
  • Must be able to pull/push cages with raw meat weighing between 290 to 1,800 lbs. using proper techniques as explained during safety training.
  • Must have the ability to effectively present information in both one-on-one and small group situations to management and other team members of the organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions, and deal with problems.
  • Must be able to work/train employees in a fast-paced refrigerated environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the supervisor of the Processing Department in overseeing the production team's activities.
  • Providing the supervisor with input on employee counseling and performance evaluations.
  • Assisting the supervisor with the day-to-day production process, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Ensuring that staff meet their production, quality, and safety goals.
  • Assuming the duties of the department supervisor in their absence.
  • Supervising all operational & safety-related functions of company equipment & machinery such as Mixers, Mixer-grinders, Grinders, Stuffers, Frank-o-matics, Pallet Jacks, High Lifts, & other production-related machinery.
  • Tracking product yields, pump percentages, & formulating meat blocks.
  • Overseeing all production-related activities about the Product and the traceability of Computer System Deacom.
  • Engaging and motivating the production team while setting a professional example.
  • Reporting to management staff safety, quality, productivity, and attendance issues from employees.
  • Operating machinery & planning staff scheduling/rotation/tasks.
  • Reporting plant machinery breakdowns to maintenance technicians.
  • Ensuring employees are wearing mandatory PP E. (Earplugs, aprons, gloves, boots) and chemical PPE to the qualified employees.
