About The Position

John F. Martin & Sons, LLC, is a third/fourth generation, family-owned/family-friendly manufacturer and distributor of quality meat and cheese products. With locations in Stevens and Womesldorf, PA, we are committed to our employees' satisfaction, safety, well-being, and professional development. We are hiring for a SECOND SHIFT - Line Lead in our Ham Stuffing Department. Hours are: 2:30 pm - 11:30 pm (with some mandatory OT). The Line Leader is responsible for assisting the supervisor of the Ham Stuffing Department in overseeing the production team's activities. Will provide the supervisor with input on the employee's counseling and performance evaluations. Additionally, will assist the supervisor with day-to-day production, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Primary responsibility is to ensure that the staff meets their production, quality, and safety goals. In the department supervisor's absence, the leader will assume their duties.

Requirements

Ability to use basic math skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Understand all aspects of company recipes.
Must be capable of lifting 20 to 80 lb bags of recipe spices.
Must have the ability to effectively present information in both one-on-one and small group situations to management and other team members of the organization.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and deal with problems.
Must be able to work/train employees in a fast-paced refrigerated environment.

Responsibilities

Supervising all operational & safety-related functions of company equipment & machinery such as Injectors, Massage Barrels, Masserators, Grinders, Tipper ties, Pallet Jacks, High Lifts, & other production-related machinery.
Tracking product yields, pump percentages, & formulating meat blocks.
Operating machinery & planning staff scheduling/rotation/tasks.
Reporting plant machinery breakdowns to maintenance technicians.
