The Line Driver is responsible for storing and retrieving goods in the storage area of the workplace. This role involves rotating stock to ensure oldest materials are used first, noting and reporting any damaged goods, and recording inventory changes. The operator will use an industrial forklift and a handheld scan gun/RFGEN for lot tracking to maintain accurate inventory. Working from written or verbal instructions, the operator will pick up, move, load, and unload product on or from trailers while adhering to all relevant guidelines. The position also includes performing minor equipment service, completing daily safety inspections, identifying and reporting problems, changing fuel bottles, refueling forklifts, and troubleshooting repairs. Maintaining a clean and orderly work area, dock, and equipment, adhering to storage design principles, and recommending improvements are also key responsibilities. The operator will create product labels, read and understand lot numbers, expiration dates, ingredient lists, and production schedules. Daily reports must be completed and entered into the computer program efficiently and timely. Basic tools such as wrenches, tape measures, scales, and air and water hoses will be used. Partial pallets will be consolidated as directed. The operator must be able to maneuver a forklift in tight spaces while maintaining a safe work zone for others. This role is a team-oriented position that requires participation in ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies. The operator will coordinate work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members and attend appropriate team meetings. As a team member, the operator will foster strong cohesiveness regarding major issues and accept responsibility to quickly identify areas lacking cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working supportively to resolve issues and reinforce actions needed to achieve synergy.
