About The Position

Southern Hops Brewing Company in Murrells Inlet, SC is seeking experienced line cooks, pizza cooks, and prep cooks to add to our team! With a full kitchen that utilizes quality local ingredients, our main goal is providing our customers with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. We also strive to provide our employees with training, support, and a great work environment with a positive culture of teamwork. Southern Hops Brewing Co. has a decade of history in South Carolina. Owners are local South Carolinians that strive to focus on quality craft beer and local ingredients.

Requirements

  • Good communication skills
  • Previous experience with grilling, salad, sandwich, pizza, and entrée preparation
  • Experience with prepping batch items and food from specific recipes
  • Able to accurately read and communicate orders
  • Well organized, shows a sense of urgency; able to track multiple orders and multitask
  • Works well under pressure
  • Team player, works productively with others
  • Understanding and adhering to all food safety practices required by SC DHEC
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
  • At least 6 months experience in a similar capacity
  • Presents self professionally, e.g. clean uniform, well groomed

Responsibilities

  • Accurately and efficiently execute the preparation of all salad, sandwich, grill, pizza, and sauté items while meeting presentation and timing standards.
  • Assist others in the kitchen.
  • Maintain a clean, well-stocked, and organized work area.
  • Prep food items for service.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of recipes, procedures and plating for all menu, special and promo items for which he/she is responsible.
  • Prepare prep items, grill, salad, sandwich, entree items to recipe or special order.
  • Meet timing and proportion standards.
  • Coordinate orders with others, assist coworkers as needed.
  • Work cooperatively with front of house staff to respond to guest needs.
  • Ensure areas of responsibility are well stocked and guest ready.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety and food safety throughout the shift.
  • Stock taking, rotating stock, cleaning, opening and closing tasks; and any other duties designated by the management team or Kitchen Leader.
