About The Position

National Star Services is hiring Cooks for its location in Des Plaines, Illinois. The role involves preparing food in large quantities using standardized recipes and meeting food quality, presentation, portion, safety, and sanitation standards. Cooks also operate commercial kitchen equipment, assist with inventory and waste reduction, maintain clean and organized workstations, and collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals.

The schedule covers Monday through Sunday, with two days off per week scheduled by the supervisor. Available shifts are 10:00 AM–7:30 PM and 2:00 PM–10:30 PM. Pay is $18.55 per hour, paid biweekly.

Requirements

• Provide two valid forms of ID.
• Be bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Have previous cooking experience.
• Have and wear slip-resistant shoes.
• Have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Be able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Be available to start immediately.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food in large quantities following standardized recipes.
• Ensure food quality, presentation, and portion standards are met.
• Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and hygiene requirements.
• Safely operate commercial kitchen equipment.
• Assist with inventory management and waste reduction efforts.
• Keep workstations clean, organized, and production-ready.
