About The Position

Dallas Detox Center, a member of Quadrant Health Group, is seeking a skilled, dependable, and compassionate Line Cook to lead culinary services within their Inpatient Detox Program in Weatherford, TX. This role is responsible for delivering nutritious, comforting, and clinically appropriate meals that support clients through detoxification and early recovery. The ideal candidate is a calm, detail-oriented culinary professional who excels in a structured healthcare environment. This is an on-site, hands-on role.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of experience as a Chef or Cook (healthcare, residential, or treatment facility experience strongly preferred)
  • Strong understanding of nutrition and dietary needs related to detox and early recovery
  • Knowledge of food-safety regulations and health-code requirements
  • ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Ability to manage a kitchen independently and maintain a calm, professional environment
  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
  • Reliable, compassionate, and committed to client wellbeing

Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare balanced meals that support clients during medical detox, prioritizing hydration, nutrition, and comfort.
  • Adjust meals to meet individual dietary needs, allergies, and physician-approved meal modifications.
  • Ensure all meals are prepared on schedule with quality and consistency.
  • Maintain strict compliance with food-safety standards, health regulations, and facility policies.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized kitchen at all times.
  • Implement and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for food handling, preparation, storage, and sanitation.
  • Monitor food inventory and place timely orders to ensure uninterrupted meal service.
  • Track food usage, reduce waste, and maintain cost-efficient purchasing practices.
  • Ensure all food is stored and rotated properly according to safety standards.
  • Work closely with nursing and clinical staff to accommodate special diets, nutrition-related requests, and client health needs.
  • Communicate meal schedules, ingredient changes, and dietary updates to the treatment team.
  • Support kitchen assistants or dietary aides (if applicable).
  • Provide a positive dining experience that promotes comfort, stability, and recovery.
  • Prepare snacks and hydration options appropriate for detox clients.
  • Assist with accommodating clients experiencing nausea or medical sensitivities during detox.
