About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Line Cook to join our team at Torrance Baekjeong. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment and a passion for preparing high-quality food. This role involves setting up stations, preparing a variety of dishes, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. You will be responsible for preparing food to order, managing inventory, and collaborating with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service.

Requirements

High School/GED or higher education preferred
1+ year(s) of experience in high-paced kitchen environment preferred
Knowledge in various cooking ingredients preferred
Familiar with the taste of authentic Korean food preferred
Proper lifting, pushing and pulling techniques are required

Responsibilities

Set up stations and collect all necessary supplies to prepare for service
Prepare a variety of foods including meat, seafood, vegetables, and cold food items
Prepare sauces and garnishes for allocated station
Cover, label, date, and correctly store all food items as per safe food-handling procedures
Inform chef in advance of likely shortages
Prepare dishes to order
Set up sanitizer buckets and towels
Constantly check the equipment on the line to ensure there are no gas leaks
Temperature checks of all reach-in and walk-in coolers
Set up rubber floor mats at station
Restock reach-in coolers
Prep lunch boxes for oncoming rushes
Clean line equipment
Clean the grill
Clean the range
Clean the flat top
Wipe down rice warmers
Clean underneath equipment
Change foiling lining on top of ranges
Clean sinks of food debris and sanitize
Disinfect prep area surfaces
Sweep and mop floors
Empty and wash sanitizer buckets
Other duties as assigned
