About The Position

Artisan Cafe is looking for culinarians in training to join their team. They are willing to train on the job. This role focuses on the creation, consistency, and overall quality of their food offerings. As a Line Cook, you will support the Lead Line Cook while helping maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment to deliver excellent dishes to every guest, every time.

Requirements

  • Proven cooking experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Line Cook experience required
  • Hands-on experience with skillet, fryer, and grill cooking
  • Ability to move between stations throughout the shift (this role is not fixed to one station)
  • Strong sense of urgency paired with clear, respectful communication
  • Ability to recognize low inventory levels and proactively restock or notify a Lead Cook or Supervisor
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent attendance
  • Coachable and open to feedback, with the ability to apply direction quickly
  • Well-organized with strong situational awareness in the kitchen
  • Team-oriented mindset with a focus on shared success
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to interact productively with coworkers to meet service and operational goals
  • English proficiency required

Nice To Haves

  • Breakfast cooking experience strongly preferred
  • Pizza experience is a plus and can be trained
  • Customer service or hospitality background preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine food preparation according to established operational policies and procedures
  • Prepare and set up stations and kitchen areas for service
  • Cook and assemble breakfast items quickly, efficiently, and with strong attention to detail and quality
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized kitchen, storage areas, and restaurant
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations, including FIFO practices
  • Ensure all products meet company specifications and quality standards
  • Properly and safely handle kitchen equipment and tools
  • Communicate clearly, respectfully, and proactively with management and team members
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency while remaining calm and professional during high-volume periods
  • Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and remain on duty until properly relieved by a supervisor
  • Adapt to changing priorities and assist with additional tasks as assigned
