About The Position

Puckett's Grocery & Restaurant in Columbia, TN is seeking line cooks with positive attitudes and a servant's heart to join their team. Puckett's is part of the A. Marshall Hospitality family of restaurants, which is a growing business. The company is looking for talented individuals with energetic and positive personalities to contribute to its growth, emphasizing leadership that is hands-on and invested in employee development. The Line Cook is responsible for cooking various hot food products such as meats, seafood, vegetables, and soups, as well as preparing and portioning food before cooking. This role also involves duties related to final plate preparation, including plating and garnishing all hot menu items.

Requirements

• Must pass the federally mandated E-verify process
• Be 18 years of age or older
• Have reliable transportation to and from work
• Must have an understanding of proper use and maintenance of major kitchen equipment
• Able to communicate clearly and effectively with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of experience in similar position preferred

Responsibilities

• Cooking meats, seafood, vegetables, soups, and other hot food products
• Prepare and portion food products prior to cooking
• Perform other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items
• Prepare appropriate garnishes for all hot menu item plates
