Burnt Store Marina CC’s kitchen team is looking for an experienced cook to join its back of house team. Minimum 1 year of cooking experience necessary. Must have a flexible schedule, be a team player and have a great attitude. Searching for candidates who are looking to make a home in a fast pace, ever changing kitchen environment. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Collects food and beverage products and small wares required for item preparation Handles assigned stations on the line and helps run service Operates food production equipment according to manufacturers' instructions Assists in plating food items for members and guests Notifies Chef in advance of expected product shortages Handles leftover food items as instructed by the Chef Makes sure all items are wrapped, dated, labeled, and stored properly Returns soiled food preparation utensils and small wares to the proper areas Cleans preparation and serving equipment/ line with the team Cleans assigned workstation areas with the team Consistently uses safe and sanitary food handling practices Keeps walk-ins clean and organized and up to code Sets-up plating line and assists with plating duties Assists with preparation of other food products in any other area of the kitchen as needed Performs other appropriate tasks as assigned by the Chef Works well with others This Job Is Ideal for Someone Who Is: Dependable -- more reliable than spontaneous Adaptable/flexible -- enjoys doing work that requires frequent shifts in direction Detail-oriented -- would rather focus on the details of work than the bigger picture Autonomous/Independent -- enjoys working with little direction High stress tolerance -- thrives in a high-pressure environment
