About The Position

Line Cooks are at the heart of what makes Torchy's food damn good. Working across our back of house stations, you are responsible for preparing menu items with consistency, speed, and care. This role is a key part of a fast-moving kitchen team where food quality and teamwork matter in equal measure.

Requirements

  • Must meet state and local requirements for Food Handler’s certification.
  • Certification(s) must be obtained by your first day or within the timeline required by your location.
  • Previous kitchen experience preferred.
  • Ability to work varied schedules and hours based on your restaurant’s needs.
  • Must be able to stand for several hours.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach for objects on shelves at various height levels.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare menu items according to Torchy's recipes, specifications, and portioning standards, ensuring every taco meets our quality expectations.
  • Set up, operate, and break down your assigned station — keeping it clean, organized, and properly stocked throughout your shift.
  • Follow all food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures in compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Execute orders with a sense of urgency and accuracy, maintaining pace during high-volume periods without sacrificing quality.
  • Communicate clearly and work closely with your fellow kitchen team members to keep the line running smoothly and guests taken care of.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
