About The Position

Line Cooks are responsible for providing quality culinary experiences for guests. The position will require the ability to perform a variety of tasks within the kitchen and will require a basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques. The position will work in close collaboration with colleagues and follow established health and safety standards and enhance the service and goals set by Antelope Point Marina.

Requirements

  • ServSafe certification required prior to start date.
  • Previous kitchen experience preferred (1 year or more).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Basic knife skills and food prep knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Flexible schedule, including nights/weekends/holidays.
  • High School or equivalent.
  • Prior culinary experience is preferred, but not necessary for this position.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in kitchen equipment and maintenance.
  • Access to email service.
  • Knowledge of APM marina services and amenities.
  • Guest relation skills which allow calm, effective, polite and professional resolution of guest problems or concerns.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in fire extinguisher operation.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in ISO/EMS awareness.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in employee orientation.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in hazard communication.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in hazardous materials response/respiratory protection.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in emergency response.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in recyclable materials.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in blood borne pathogen awareness.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in food and beverage safety practices.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in food and beverage products and preparations.
  • This position requires reading, writing, and communicating fluently in English to convey pertinent information with guests and colleagues.

  • Ability to work quickly in a fast paced environment and ensure kitchen standards are met.
  • Accountability for food products and the culinary experiences of guests.
  • Ability to work with a variety of foods and products in day to day responsibilities.
  • Understand and practice proper guidelines for food safety and sanitation.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet kitchen needs.
  • Assists with the proper rotation, sanitation, and organization of inventory.
  • Must communicate professionally and diplomatically with collegues and guests.
  • Possess the ability to react productively to other duties as reasonably assigned.
