About The Position

Cowboy Jack's in Altoona is seeking quality staff members who respect and work well with other team members and management. Our ideal Line Cook will execute food safety standards, follow key recipes, and adhere to food cost controls. The Line Cook will prepare and cook menu items, ensuring each dish meets our high standards of quality and presentation.

Requirements

Must be able to stand with well-placed mobility for up to 4 hours in length.
Ability to carry 0-40 pounds on a regular basis throughout the shift.
Understanding of cooking methods and procedures, and knife handling skills.
Ability to perform tasks with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail.
Ability to read and follow cooking directions.
Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
Must be organized and self-motivated.
Requires grasping, standing, walking, repetitive motions, hearing ability, and visual acuity throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients, then cook and assemble dishes as indicated by recipes.
Perform portion control and maintain portioning standards.
Ensure all dishes are prepared in a timely manner by restocking ingredients at the workstation and meeting prep times to ensure smooth delivery and ticket times.
Communicate effectively and work well in a team environment; maintain organization and a sense of urgency.
Maintain a clean workstation area, including kitchen equipment, tables, and shelves; handle, store, and rotate all products to standards.
Comply with applicable sanitary, health, and personal hygiene standards.
Ensure the quality and freshness of ingredients and products.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the line supervisor or manager.
