About The Position

Ginger Cove, a premier life-care retirement community in Annapolis, is seeking Full-Time or Part-Time Line Cooks to join our Culinary Services team. At Ginger Cove, our culinary team prepares high-quality meals that bring comfort, joy, and connection to our residents every day. This is an opportunity to cook with purpose while working in a supportive and professional kitchen environment. We offer a more balanced schedule than traditional restaurant kitchens and an air-conditioned kitchen for a comfortable work environment year-round. The role involves preparing and presenting high-quality meals while maintaining the highest culinary and food safety standards, making a daily impact in the lives of our residents.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Experience in hot and cold food preparation
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English in order to follow recipes, food safety logs, and kitchen procedures
Strong organizational and communication skills
Professional appearance and a team-first attitude
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Nice To Haves

Culinary school degree (preferred but not required)
Previous experience in healthcare or senior living (a plus)

Responsibilities

Preparing and cooking menu items according to recipes and daily menus
Assisting with food prep and planning for upcoming meals
Plating meals with attention to presentation and portion control
Maintaining kitchen cleanliness and sanitation standards
Monitoring food temperatures and maintaining food safety logs
Supporting meal preparation for special events and functions
Following all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
