About The Position

We are a high-volume restaurant and pizzeria seeking cooks/prep staff for full-time positions. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their craft, enjoys working with their hands, and is excited to learn and grow within a team that cares about quality and hospitality. You will be responsible for preparing and executing our menu with consistency, care, and attention to detail, while working as part of a collaborative kitchen team. You will ensure proper service from the front line through quality control, training of line cooks and ensure proper sanitation levels.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality setting preferred
You have an appreciation for pizza, dough, and the craft that goes into it
You’re available to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Must be 18 years of age or older
Spanish speaking ability preferred
Food Handlers Certification
Punctuality, a professional appearance, and basic knowledge of food handling are required.

Responsibilities

Check all items against the recipe cards, verify that use records are followed for all items served and that food is presented in an efficient, quality manner.
Monitor the line set up prior to all meal functions to ensure maximum efficiency during meal periods.
Monitor the equipment maintenance and kitchen "clean as you go" policy to ensure strict adherence.
Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards, per dupe from servers.
Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, making sure not to prepare more than estimated needs.
Date all food containers and rotate as per the SOP, making sure that all perishables are kept at proper temperatures.
Check parts for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set up.
Note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages.
Return all food items not used on the shift to designated storage areas, being sure to cover/date all perishables.
Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation across all dishes
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines and requirements
Assist with maintaining cleanliness in shared spaces, including the dining room as needed
Monitor product levels and assist with stocking and organization
Help ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations during service
Carefully follows standard recipes while preparing assigned items for food service
Consistently uses safe and sanitary food handling practices
Assists other cooks during emergencies or rush periods
Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces, or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
Assists in plating food items for service
Cleans assigned work station areas
Ensure food is stored and cooked at the correct temperature by regulating the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters
Carefully follows instructions and procedures set and communicated by the Chef
Support dishwashing and general kitchen upkeep as needed
Communicate clearly and work collaboratively with team members
Maintain a positive and respectful working environment
Interact with guests when needed and help address questions or concerns
Assist with prep, station setup, and breakdown before, during, and after service
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen, including equipment and storage areas
Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost problems; control food waste, loss and usage per SOP.
