About The Position

The Line Cook plays a key support role in the kitchen at The Westgate Hotel by preparing basic food items, assisting station cooks, and ensuring cleanliness and readiness throughout food preparation areas. This is an entry-level culinary position ideal for individuals beginning their culinary journey in a high-standard hotel environment.

Requirements

  • Previous kitchen experience preferred but not required.
  • Basic knife skills and willingness to learn culinary techniques.
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and team player mentality.
  • Food Handler Certification required (or obtained upon hire).

Responsibilities

  • Assist with prep work including chopping, portioning, measuring, and labeling ingredients.
  • Prepare simple menu items under direction (salads, garnishes, cold items, etc.).
  • Maintain cleanliness of workstations and follow all sanitation guidelines.
  • Assist with stocking and rotating inventory.
  • Support line cooks and respond to kitchen needs promptly.
  • Maintain proper food storage and temperature standards.
  • Follow kitchen safety, uniform, and food handling protocols at all times
