About The Position

Shawanoe Steak & Spirits is seeking a Full Time Line Cook to join their team at Indigo Sky Casino in Wyandotte, OK. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a high-volume steakhouse environment and be responsible for cooking all foods on the Ala Carte for each station, plating and garnishing all cooked foods to specifications, and maintaining food quality standards. This role requires adaptability, as the cook will work all stations on a rotation basis and maintain open communication with team members and management. A positive guest experience is paramount, requiring helpfulness and friendliness to all guests. The position also involves executing food production as determined by production sheets, preparing proper amounts of food, maintaining a waste-free department through production control, and ensuring the cleanliness of the work area and walk-in cooler. Maintaining established par levels and ensuring stations are stocked at all times are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a high-volume steakhouse environment is required.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least one-year related experience preferred.
  • Be able to obtain/maintain Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma gaming license.
  • Ability to maneuver in the casino, visual acuity to observe and react to handle customer questions and complaints.
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for 7 1/2 hours per day.
  • Have good dexterity in fingers, to be able to hold and manipulate product or machinery.
  • Able to work in hot and cold temperature extremes.
  • Be able to lift up to 50lbs and push or pull a flatbed cart weighing up to 300lbs.
  • Must be able to stretch, bend, kneel, twist and reach.
  • Must be able to taste, feel, smell, see and be able to read, write and speak basic English

Responsibilities

  • Cook all foods on the Ala Carte for each station
  • Plate and garnish all cooked foods to specifications to ensure quality and consistency
  • Directly responsible to work all stations on a rotation basis and keep an open line of communication with other line team members and culinary management
  • Create a positive guest experience. Be helpful and friendly to all internal and external guests
  • Execute all food production as determined on production sheets
  • Prepare the proper amounts of food as determined by management
  • Maintain food quality specifications as determined by standard recipes
  • Maintain a waste free department by controlling productions
  • Ensure cleanliness of your immediate work area and the process of walk in cooler
  • Maintain established par levels and ensure stations are stocked at all times
